Assisted Reading

At The Workshop, we offer a supervised, one on one remedial reading lessons.

We recommend an initial psychometric test to isolate the specific areas of difficulty. The remedial reading coaching will then address these needs specific to each child.

We encourage your child to bring her school reader, and a portion of the session will be spent revising the school reading, and reinforce spelling that is done during class.

Sessions run for 45 - 60 minutes, once a week. A portion of the session is spent on the Earobics Software, improving Auditory processing skills, concentration skills, and phonological awareness.

We concentrate on a gradual progression toward more complex sound patterns, irregular rules, and multisyllabic words.

Material that challenges and develops and attitude of “I can” is a vital process in encouraging improved attitudes toward reading. The Workshop nurtures this positive outlook toward reading and the world of words.
